WBP Mini Jack 5.56 AK | Zenitco Upgrades - Polish AK SBR Suppressed w/Dead Air Wolverine

My WBP Mini Jack in 5.56 has been significantly upgraded as an SBR with Zenitco parts and a KNS piston to tune the suppression. The WBP Mini Jack is a well-appointed Polish AK chambered in the very common 5.56x45 round. AKs have become extremely popular in the last couple of years, including the AK-74 and AK-105 chambered in the ever elusive 5.45x39 caliber. With the future of 5.45 becoming increasingly uncertain in the U.S., many folks have been looking for AKs chambered in 5.56 to scratch that small caliber AK itch. While there are a handful of strong full size rifle options for those looking for 5.56 AKs, there are very few short barreled configurations available. There's the FB Radom Beryl, which is very cool but uses all proprietary furniture so it doesn't offer a lot of aftermarket flexibility. Then there's the Zastava ZPAP85, which is a great option. For me personally, since I already have a Zastava ZPAP92, I didn't want to essentially get the same gun in a different caliber - especially considering the aftermarket limitations of Zastava firearms requiring Yugo patterned furniture and not having a side rail for optics mounting. Enter WBP and the Mini Jack - a 5.56 AK with a 10" barrel that accepts standard AKM furniture, the most common AK furniture available. This is exactly what I was looking for. WBP is a newer company out of Poland that has quickly gained a strong reputation for building solid, reliable AKs with an excellent fit and finish. Imported by Arms of America and converted by Atlantic Firearms, WBP firearms can sometimes be a little pricier than the competition, but they can be worth it if they tick all of the boxes for what you're looking for. I discussed the initial configuration in my First Shots video here -    • WBP Mini Jack 5.56 AK | First Shots - "AK ...   In this video I demonstrate the final form of my WBP Mini Jack. It is now a registered SBR, with Zenitco B10u and B-19n handguards, a Zenitco RK-6 vertical grip and Zenitco RK-3 pistol grip. I also installed a JMAC Customs ST-6 folding buffer tube and a Mission First Tactical Minimalist Stock. I'm still using the Definitive Arms muzzle brake when shooting unsuppressed, but I've also added a KNS Piston to help tune the gas when shooting suppressed. In my first shots video, the Mini Jack was significantly overgassed when shooting suppressed. The KNS piston completely solves this issue and this now one of the softest shooting AKs I've ever shot. I fired 270 rounds in this session and had an absolute blast. The reliability when shooting unsuppressed is right on the very edge, but if I want to get 100% reliability I can always swap the muzzle brake for a krink style booster. Shooting this setup suppressed with the Dead Air Wolverine suppressor is absolute gold. For magazines I used a mixture of Arsenal Circle 10, FB Radom and WBP magazines. I absolutely love the 5.45 round, but the future of the caliber in the United States is very much uncertain. 5.56 or 223, however, is one of the most popular rounds in the country. It could very easily be said that grabbing an AK in 5.56 would be a much more practical choice over 5.45 in these uncertain times. I still love 5.45, but I do have to agree with the practicality of 5.56, and this WBP Mini Jack so far is everything that I wanted it to be. There will be more videos on the WBP Mini Jack soon - including an SBR update after my Form 1 clears, as well as some Zenitco upgrades and other fun changes. Stay tuned!
