FIFA, a non-profit organization founded to develop and improve the beautiful sport of soccer, has $1,8B in cash reserves, paid its President about $3M a year. Its top executives went to jail a few years ago for laundering money, taking bribes. This pastor used his non-profit to essentially become a millionaire, fly private jets. These are just two of many stories we found on how easy these organizations lose their way. It’s no coincidence that so many celebrities and millionaires have all established their foundations. But even worse than just saving taxes, non-profits raise money. From people like you and me who sometimes want to help.
