I thought Klipper was impossible to install. Spoiler alert: it's super easy—and in 4 minutes, I'll explain what it is and why it transforms any 3D printer. 🤯 Basically, Klipper is a firmware that "moves the brain" of the 3D printer onto a Raspberry Pi (or a mini PC): the board still controls the motors and heaters in real time, but all the heavy lifting is done by the host computer. The result: faster speed, more precision, and a convenient web interface. 🧠 WHAT I TALK ABOUT IN THE VIDEO ▸ What is Klipper and how does it "transform" the printer board ▸ Mainsail, Moonraker, and MainsailOS: who does what ▸ Input shaping: the accelerometer that eliminates vibrations ▸ Webcam + timelapse directly from Klipper ▸ Integration with Home Assistant (the light turns green at the end of the print 🟢) ▸ It's all REVERSIBLE: you can revert to the original firmware whenever you want 🔧 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (for the picky ones 😄 — I told you I got the names wrong) ▸ The sensor that "records vibrations" It's an accelerometer: the classic one is the ADXL345 (Klipper also supports LIS2DW and others). The function is called Input Shaping / resonance compensation: it measures resonances and compensates for them, so you print faster without ghosting. ▸ The board doesn't become completely "dumb": it continues to run firmware (Klipper's) and manages the motors and heaters in real time. What moves to the Raspberry Pi is the logic and calculations. ▸ Reversibility: you always revert to the original firmware, but depending on the board, the flash can be done via USB OR by copying the file to a microSD card (e.g., on Creality 4.2.x).
