The acid reached the circuit board and affected some critical areas, which triggered Error E08 and SEr. The keypad wasn’t responding, and the unit couldn’t communicate with the outdoor meter. I didn’t replace any component, what I did was carry out intensive cleaning. I carefully removed the CPU chip and the communication (WiFi) chip, cleaned out the board thoroughly, and reinstalled them. After that, the keypad came back to life. The SEr error was due to the device needing to be paired with its outdoor meter. I took the device to the user’s house, entered the required code, completed the pairing, and everything was back working. The whole process was done within 24 hours and the user was excited to get his UIU working again.
