Timur Soykan, İsmail Arı’nın tutuklanmasını anlattı: “İşte bunları anlatmasın diye tutukladılar…”

BirGün reporter İsmail Arı was detained yesterday evening around 10:10 PM in Turhal district of Tokat, where he was visiting family for the holiday, as part of an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Arı, accused of "publicly disseminating misleading information," was brought to Ankara this morning. During his interrogation at the police station, Arı sent a message saying, "For the past year, they have been looking for an excuse to arrest me. My only crime is doing journalism in this country. Journalism is not a crime." Arı's interrogation at the police station concluded in the evening. He was transferred to the courthouse around 8:00 PM. The prosecutor's office referred him to the magistrate's court with a request for arrest without taking his statement. Our reporter İsmail Arı was arrested.
