PS1 Longplay: Need for Speed High Stakes (USA) [Part 1 of 2] - Tournament & Special Events

Developer: EA Canada Publisher: Electronic Arts Release: 03/01/1999 Need for Speed: High Stakes is the fourth title in the franchise, released in 1999 for PlayStation and Windows. Like its predecessor, it maintains the standard of races and police chases. It also once again features a series of exotic sports cars and tracks located in Western Europe and North America. High Stakes is the first game in the series to feature vehicle damage, represented by simple deformations in the bodywork. This damage also affects performance. Players can check the vehicle's condition through a damage indicator, which shows the engine, steering, bodywork, and suspension. The intensity of the damage is indicated by a red barometer. In career mode, damage cannot be removed until the player repairs it in the garage, which costs credits. In the PlayStation version, the damage indicator is not available, and cars are automatically repaired after the race ends, with the repair cost automatically deducted from the player's account based on the damage sustained in career mode. However, damage still affects performance and appearance, just like in the PC version. For example, rolling over damages the paint, decals, panels, and removes aerodynamic parts installed in the Stage 3 upgrade for the remainder of the race. For this longplay, I run all races in tournament mode and, having enough money, I bet high in Special Events. This mode is optional, but you win a lot of money in the end, although I had to sell some cars along the way. Finishing each tournament or event also earns you a trophy. In Hot Pursuit mode, I play both solo and duel modes on intermediate and expert difficulties. Each police car is unlocked per track, and in an optional game mode, you don't get anything else besides the car and a helicopter that can only be used in test drive mode. For fans of this game, enjoy :) Part 1 03:34 Worldwide Roadster Classic (Tournament) - Z3 28:00 Weekend Road Racing Classic (Special Events) - Z3 41:17 Twilight Open Series (Special Events) - Z3 01:00:18 Regional Club Circuit (Tournament) - FIREBIRD T/A 01:29:30 International Open Road Tour (Special Events) - FIREBIRD T/A 01:54:58 Super Sedan Challenge (Tournament) - DB9 02:30:39 Grand Touring Competition (Tournament) - CORVETTE 03:09:01 Corvette Pro Cup (Special Events) - CORVETTE 03:31:29 Knockout Challenge (Special Events) - CORVETTE 03:58:04 International Supercar Series (Tournament) - PORSCHE 911 04:42:46 Porsche Pro Cup (Special Events) - PORSCHE 911 05:04:39 Open Road Knockout Challenge (Special Events) - PORSCHE 911 05:20:40 GT Racing Championship (Tournament) - F1 GTR 05:49:59 Endurance Racing Competition (Special Events) - F1 GTR 06:50:02 Credits Full Playlist here!    • PlayStation Games (Longplays)   Feel free to subscribe, comment, and rate the videos; it means a lot to me.
