It takes some practice to get the hang of the Electric Whip, but once you realize that the Hook Mech and Boulder Mech can both help complete chains by pulling, pushing, or bouldering, you realize just how powerful they become. Hook Mech's armor lets it survive a hit or two of the chain, Boulder Mech can complete distant chains while damaging, or can block Vek with the boulder. Up the health on the Boulder Mech, and even better, super-charge it with Archimedes or Chen Rong, and you'll realize you can block multiple Vek every turn while also getting off chain attacks. In this run, I got a lucky Beth early on, and the Artillery Strike weapon proved quite useful, but by Island 2 things really took off when I got the Light Tank and Gemini Missiles - once I had those, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that the already-powerful Blitzkrieg were going to clean house. As a result, you see an Island 3 and Island 4 that went very smoothly, without any really tricky spots. Lightning Mech and Boulder Mech don't really need any special items, but Hook Mech should be a priority to add another weapon, preferably a damaging one, as soon as possible. Its hook pull becomes almost useless by Island 3 due to you being frequently outnumbered by Alphas you cannot 1-shot in an Electric Chain, but the hook's shield upgrade synergizes very well with the tank weapons - launch a tank on turn 1, then use your hook to keep the tank blocking and shielded. A push or pull attack on Lightning Mech is useful too, for those cases that an electric attack isn't enough to get a Vek off a building.
