Rim-To-Rim Backpacking | Grand Canyon

A 3-day backpacking trip from the North Rim to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is an epic adventure. We hiked down the North Kaibab Trail, camped two nights, then climbed to the South Rim via the South Kaibab Trail. The trip covered 25+ miles with over 5,600 feet of elevation gain. The last day was steep and challenging (7 miles / 4,800+ ft of elevation gain), but the weather was cool around 80°F, much better than 102°F at the canyon bottom the day before. Some of the best parts of the trip were soaking in Bright Angel Creek, eating dinner at Phantom Ranch Canteen, standing below Ribbon Falls, and the tough but beautiful hike on the last day. The Grand Canyon's huge beauty and challenging trails make it one of the most unforgettable places to explore.
