🚴‍♂️In this installment, I'll be venturing onto the "Montañas Vacías" ("The Empty Mountains") route. This area is also called "Spanish Lapland" because, with a population density of only 7 inhabitants per km², it's one of the most sparsely populated areas in all of Europe. 🏕️ In this bikepacking documentary, I'll take you on my first month-long solo cycling adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Spain. Riding my gravel bike, I'll set out to climb the highest drivable mountain pass in Europe (Pico Veleta), cross the Gorafe Desert (Badlands), discover that Spain also has a Lapland, discover the rugged coastlines in the north of the country, and ride through the alpine region of the Cantabrian Mountains.
