Wartburg - auto, które w PRL-u było luksusem, a dziś kosztuje mniej niż rower!

The Wartburg – a car that was a luxury in the Polish People's Republic, but today costs less than a bicycle! The story of the Wartburg 353 is a tale of brilliant engineers trapped in the absurdities of the system, of a BMW factory stolen by the communists, of Monte Carlo rallies with a motorcycle engine under the hood, and of the Melkus RS 1000 sports car, dubbed the Ferrari of the East. How did a car with a two-stroke engine from the 1930s conquer the roads of the entire Eastern Bloc and become the dream of millions of families in Poland? Why were the engineers from Eisenach not allowed to install a normal engine for over 20 years? And what happened when the Berlin Wall fell, and over a million Wartburgs suddenly lost their value? You will find the answers to these questions in this film.
