GORDON YOUNG ORGAN

GORDON YOUNG was born in McPherson, Kansas. He attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and was a scholarship pupil at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. A superb organist and choral director, he served churches in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, before becoming the Organist/Choirmaster at First Presbyterian Church, Detroit, Michigan, where he served for many years. He died in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, on October 2, 1998. He left behind a plethora of organ music! He is one of my favorite composers and I play his music often for church services. Prelude: Fairest Lord Jesus Offertory: O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee Postlude: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
