Calf share homestead milking

When I moved to a farm, I didnt have any useful information on how to milk a cow. Journey with me as I show you how I milk my Jersey cow, Rosie. Rather than separate her calf like most dairy farmers, I keep her calf with her. This gives me an automatic backup plan if I cant milk Rosie. If I want milk from Rosie, I bring her calf into my fenced in yard for the evening (around 5pm). In the morning I bring Rosie up to my milking parlor (under my deck), and when I am finished milking, I reunite the calf with her mom. Follow along as I show you how to set up the milking machine in the morning, get the cows, milk, and even how I clean my small milking machine. I dont have a barn, so I make use of the space I have under my deck. I have found Rosie prefers not to be tethered during this process. Forgive the long silence in the beginning, I am tired, and trying not to wake the kids.
