Tape recorded live at Plastic club Milan on 4-6-1993. Track list below Resident DJ Stefano Lucarelli ( aka Steve Dub aka Steve Monroe ) is an Italian dj/producer active since 1981. His wide musical culture, ranging from jazz to soul, funk, hip hop, reggae and R&B, has made him one of urban culture’s pioneers in Italy. Over the past 20 years, his music selections have not only given birth to some of the coolest Milano’s Nights but strongly contributed to increase the hype around clubs like Plastic, Soul To Soul, Atm Bar, Le Bataclan, The Black and Biko, and, in addition, have been chosen as soundtrack for Prada, Lawrence Steele and Katharine Hamnet’s fashion shows. Official Italian dj for Vibe magazine, during his career Steve has played and produced lives and animated parties for the likes of Quincy Jones, Mary J. Blige, Spike Lee, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Gang Starr, Naughty by Nature, Paris, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Bilal, Pharoae Monch, Slum Village, Coultrain, Myron & E and Jordan Rakei. He has also decisively helped to build the success of some of the most popular hip hop radio shows in Italy, such as One-Two One-Two and Soulsista on Radio Deejay, Milangeles on Radio Capital, Hands Up on Station One and Urban Suite on Rai Radio 2. As a composer and producer he has worked with the leading names of the Italian’s hip hop and R&B scene, including Irene Lamedica, Chief & Soci, Le Sacre Scuole, DJ Skizo and Golden Bass. Among its productions there are some tracks for the legendary label Acid Jazz. He’s currently one of the resident djs of Biko Club and collaborates with Soulfood Promotion for the organization of events and live concerts. He’s the CEO of Too Deep Records and one of the founder and main contributors of akaSoulsista.com.
