37250 Thrash | WSR | 2026/06/06

English Electric Type 3, Class 37, 37250, once again providing absolutely fantastic thrash, this time at the West Somerset Railway Diesel Gala. This video only came to be because of a series of events. We initially bashed the first train on Thursday morning with 37250, but that run was pathetic with barely any power being applied (so it is not included in this video and I subsequently deleted the footage). Fast forward to Saturday and we did not get full power off D7017, deciding to bail at Bishops Lydeard for 26007 but that was also not given full power... We again bailed at Crowcombe Heathfield for 37250 which was the right choice. 37250 driven here starting from Norton Fitzwarren properly! It was so good, we stayed on the train for the return run. The first run was recorded in full with the sections uncut after Bishops Lydeard all the way to Crowcombe Heathfield, and then from Watchet to the approach of Washford as the power was on and off. The return run was not recorded in full, but the section between Williton and Crowcombe Heathfield is completely uncut as the power was on and off and the train ran non-stop through Stogumber.
