What an incredible find!!! 1978 DT175 Restoration EP 1

Sometimes we get lucky and sometimes we have to pinch ourselves. A friend at work acquired these two completely original 1978 DT175s and needed some help with getting them back to life. Little did he know how much of a memory I had with the little Enduro with a heart of gold. In this video, I do a full refresh on 1 of 2 DT175's. Since they were brought to Alberta from British Columbia, I had to comply with the inspection and regulations in order to get it certified and plated so it can be enjoyed on the road. Not a lot of 2 stroke enduros on the road but Greta seems to be sidelined with other things these days. The bike was finished and passed inspection and was delivered back to my friend who is now enjoying it thoroughly. I expect that my bike will be completed in the coming winter (2025/26) since I have some personal matters to attend to. One thing worth mentioning, these 2 DT175s were manufactured in 1977 as a 1978 model year. Although they are plated (according to the VIN) as 1977 models, when it comes to buying parts, they are 1978. 0:00 Intro - two is better than one 3:40 Inspection time 15:08 Fuel tank surprise 18:24 Carb rebuild 30:00 Air filter 30:45 Carb installation 32:15 Fuel tank is clean 32:54 Starting the engine 35:07 Taking her for a ride
