BYD SEAL U DM-i ⭐ Prueba SUV PHEV chino ⭐ ¿MG, Omoda, Ebro, Jaecoo? 🚗🔌
It's been a long time coming, but the new BYD SEAL U DM-i finally has its in-depth test on Arrancamos 2.0, Spain's leading automotive YouTube channel. In this comprehensive review of the new BYD SEAL U DM-i, the plug-in hybrid SUV that's revolutionizing the market, I analyze all the key aspects of this car: exterior and interior design, the PHEV plug-in hybrid system, electric range (does it reach the 1,125 km it's rated for?), performance, technology, connectivity, and equipment. In-depth review of the BYD SEAL U DM-i. Let's get started! Starting with the exterior, the BYD SEAL U DM-i boasts imposing dimensions, giving it the presence of a higher-end SUV. Inside, we find a well-designed cabin with a decent-sized trunk. The 15.6-inch touchscreen that rotates to horizontal or vertical orientation, the digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, as well as the heated steering wheel and high-quality materials, demonstrate that BYD hasn't skimped on equipment. The elevated driving position typical of an SUV, the visibility, the easy access, and the well-executed finishes make the SEAL U DM-i a recommended model for families, for both urban and highway use. The star of the show, without a doubt, is its plug-in hybrid system. Under the hood, we find different variants that start with a combined power output of 218 hp (160 kW) and can reach up to 324 hp (238 kW) in the higher-performance versions. The 218 hp version tested achieves a 0 to 100 km/h time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h, more than enough. In terms of fuel consumption, the BYD SEAL U DM-i's official range isn't easy to achieve. If you only drive around town and take the occasional trip, you might get close, but once the electric battery is depleted, the combustion engine consumes a fair amount of fuel on the highway. The electric range in all-electric mode can reach up to 125 km... but of course, only with very careful driving and under ideal conditions. As for driving experience, the BYD SEAL U DM-i combines the best of both worlds: you can drive daily in 100% electric mode in the city, with zero local emissions, and when you have to tackle longer journeys, the combustion engine kicks in, acting as a range extender. During our test, we found the transition between electric and hybrid modes to be smooth, almost imperceptible. Perhaps the suspension is a touch softer than ideal, geared more towards comfort than sportiness. Furthermore, the BYD SEAL U DM-i's Zero Emissions label makes it an attractive option for restricted access zones, parking, and fuel efficiency. Regarding safety and driver assistance technology, it includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, a 360° camera, connected navigation, a head-up display (HUD), wireless charging, multiple driving modes such as Eco, Normal, and Sport, as well as the latest generation hybrid electric platform with an LFP (lithium-iron) battery. The starting price in Spain is attractive; it's a shame that the current state of government incentives would make it even more appealing and offer excellent value for money in its class. If you're looking for a plug-in hybrid SUV with a modern design, advanced technology, good equipment, and comfortable everyday driving, this video review of the BYD SEAL U DM-i will show you in detail why this model is one of the most interesting options on the market today. Don't miss the details on interior space, trunk capacity, driving feel, ergonomics, connectivity, and comparisons with other plug-in hybrids. Subscribe, turn on notifications, and comment on which version you liked best or what aspect you'd like us to analyze in future videos. On the "WOULD I BUY IT?" scale, the BYD Seal U DM I scores 6.9. It just misses the "good" mark, even though its build quality is quite solid and almost everything about it falls into that category. There are a few minor flaws, but these Chinese manufacturers are coming on strong, and under the umbrella of electric vehicles, PHEVs are sure to make waves. Keep an eye on the Dolphin and the Atto PHEV, which are on the way. Finally, don't forget to SUBSCRIBE (it's free) and follow us on social media: FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
