Kurandu Pass 1a - Kurandu River Valley Its elevation is 2960 meters. The slopes are approximately 30° steep. The ascent to the pass is along a wide slope with numerous scree and kurums. In the upper third of the slope, you'll need to cross a low rocky belt. We descended the scree in 25 minutes. The descent was simply breathtaking! We spent the night immediately after descending near the first stream. An incredibly beautiful place, with an unearthly feeling, as if you were an astronaut setting foot on the soil of some red planet. Descending the Kurandu River, you come across unusual canyons. Next, we had to ford the Yungur River, encounter forest debris, and see bears. #altai #mountains #mountainaltai #hike #kurandu
