Exploring Slovenia's Hidden Vineyards & Castles on a 125s Scooter! 🛵

🇸🇮 Končno sem si vzel nekaj časa za popoln odklop na dveh kolesih. Vreme je bilo sicer sončno, a za ta čas precej mrzlo – samo 10 °C, kar se na skuterju še kako pozna! Vendar so slikovite ceste in razgledi hitro poskrbeli, da sem pozabil na mraz. Pot sem začel z vzponom navkreber proti slikovitemu Gaju nad Mariborom. To je idilično, razgibano hribovito območje zahodno od Maribora, ki ponuja neokrnjeno naravo in čudovite panoramske razglede na dravsko dolino, Pohorje in Kozjak. Nadaljujem pot proti Svečini, ki je znana po svojih skritih vinogradih na strmih, sončnih gričih. Obiskal sem tudi mogočni Svečinski grad, kjer se skrivajo "medeni zakladi med grajskimi zidovi". Grad že od 12. stoletja bdi nad temi kraji in v objemu narave pričara pravi duh preteklosti. Pot me je vodila čisto do meje – hribi, ki jih vidite čez cesto, so že v sosednji Avstriji. Tam sem se ustavil tudi pri svoji oazi miru, mojem vikendu v Svečini, kjer se čas upočasni, razgledi na vinograde pa napolnijo baterije. Nato sem pot nadaljeval proti Zgornji Kungoti, prijaznemu središču občine, kjer se vinorodni griči srečajo z dolino. Postanek sem naredil pri Ribičiji Duh, priljubljeni izletniški točki ob ribnikih, ki je idealna za sprostitev sredi neokrnjene narave. Za konec pa nazaj proti domu čez Rošpoh in Kamnico. Mirno naravo je spet zamenjal mestni vrvež Maribora. Udobno se namestite in uživajte v 4K vožnji skozi štajerske vinograde! 🇬🇧 Taking a much-needed day off with my Piaggio Medley 125s to explore the stunning rolling hills and hidden gems of northeastern Slovenia! It's a sunny but chilly day for this season, just 10°C (50°F), but the scenic roads make the cold weather absolutely worth it. Our journey begins with a climb uphill towards the picturesque Gaj nad Mariborom, an idyllic, rolling hill area west of Maribor. Rising above the left bank of the Drava River, it is well-known for its pristine nature and stunning panoramic views. Continuing the ride, we head towards Svečina, a beautiful village renowned for its hidden vineyards that stretch across steep, sun-drenched hills. We'll explore the historic Svečina Castle (Svečinski grad), a striking 12th-century landmark that has stood watch over these valleys for centuries, and uncover the "honey treasures" within the castle walls. Right on the border, where the hills across are already in neighboring Austria, I'll also take you for a quick stop at my true oasis of peace—my weekend cabin nestled among the vineyards, where time slows down. Next, we move onwards to Zgornja Kungota, a charming village where rolling wine hills meet the valley. We'll stop by Ribičija Duh, a popular excursion spot surrounded by pristine nature, featuring ponds for sport fishing and a pleasant atmosphere. Finally, we hit the road back home, riding through the beautiful paths of Rošpoh and Kamnica, leaving the peace behind as we head back to the city hustle and bustle.
