One of the finest Taarab classics ever recorded and covered by a hosts of other artistes, Mombasa Roots Band being the pioneers of engineering the covers...The composers of Swahili songs are frequently anonymous although, in the instance of KASHA, we can say with confidence that the composer is Abd ai-Rahim Sa'id Muhammad.... He was born in Takaungu in 1920, the son of a Hadrami born to a Swahili mother. At an early age he moved to Kisauni (Mombasa north) soon was renowned composer of songs, his compositions being sung at many Swahili weddings. He passed on in 1978, leaving the legacy of, one master-piece-Kasha!
