The iMT’s clutch, paired with the gasoline 48-volt mild hybrid options, operates purely electronically, and decouples the engine from the transmission after the driver releases the accelerator while driving at constant speed, allowing the car to enter into coasting mode. This improves overall fuel efficiency. There are two levels of coasting: with the engine still on in idle and with the engine off. The driver’s chosen gear remains engaged even with the engine off. The engine restarts in the same gear as soon as the driver presses either the brake or accelerator pedal thanks to the burst of power provided by the Mild Hybrid Starter Generator (MHSG). The transmission restarts the engine in neutral (with an open clutch) if the driver pushes the clutch pedal to change gear, or if the vehicle speed is too low for the current engaged gear. The all-new Tucson is the first fully-changed Hyundai SUV to be developed according to the company’s new “Sensuous Sportiness” design identity. This direction is characterised by the harmony between four fundamental elements: proportion, architecture, styling and technology. Its purpose is to bring a sensuous and emotional touch to Hyundai vehicles, realised by innovative technology and solutions. Refraining from traditional drawing and sketching methods, Hyundai’s designers developed the all-new Tucson’s futuristic design elements through geometric algorithms produced by cutting-edge digital technology. This process, known as “parametric dynamics”, utilises lines, faces, angles and shapes created through digital data to create unprecedented, bold design aesthetics. As a result, prominent geometric patterns known as “parametric jewels” appear throughout the SUV’s design, giving it a progressive character. The evolution of Tucson’s interior layout led to a lower instrument display and removal of the gauge cluster housing around the 10.25-inch digital cluster, enhancing the feeling of openness inside. The broad ridge of the dashboard blends seamlessly with the doors, wrapping around front occupants. These futuristic features provide an even more progressive feeling and bring new levels of high-tech design value to customers. Other infotainment and connectivity features on the all-new Tucson include a premium sound system by KRELL for an enhanced listening experience, a wireless charging pad in the centre console, and front and rear USB ports for even more convenience, particularly on long journeys. Hyundai Santa Fe The new Hyundai Santa Fe exterior design makes a unique statement in the SUV segment, combining rugged presence and sophistication. The striking front end design stands out through its distinctive wide grille shape, embracing the main headlamp units. The accentuated 3D pattern of the grille mesh emphasizes its robust character. Unique, eye-catching T-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) create an unmistakable signature graphic and also reveal the turn signal as dual function. To complete the powerful presence of the front end, the corners are dominated by vertically-oriented aerodynamic inlets that improve air flow efficiency and strengthen the upright and robust impression. Wider wheel arch claddings and new alloy wheel designs, including a 20-inch option, reinforce the strong character of the new Santa Fe. At the rear, the new taillight design with horizontally-stretched graphics visually reinforces the width of the body. A red reflector band has been added to connect the taillights. To achieve harmony and refinement, the designers shaped the rear bumper fascia with focus on achieving a calmer, more sophisticated rear end design. This underlines the wide stance and strength of the vehicle. Through its exterior design, the new Santa Fe demonstrates the maturity and confidence which reflect the premium qualities of Hyundai. The new Santa Fe interior now provides more space, comfort, and convenience compared to the previous model. It takes the car to a new level of luxury with every component finished in premium soft-touch materials. It features a new lower dashboard design, a redesigned centre console and a new 10.25-inch AVN touchscreen. The new floating centre console with shift-by-wire buttons is connected to the crash pad in a smooth curve. For the first time, the new Santa Fe comes with a Terrain Mode selector: a control knob located in the centre console to conveniently switch between different drive modes. #SDADan
