Specialized FSR Carbon Comp 2019 - Overview, Ride & Verdict

I'm lucky to have the Specialized FSR Carbon Comp 2019 MTB for 2 weeks. During this demo period I've been able to test it across multiply terrain and conditions. The specialized FSR Carbon Comp also comes in 27.5 wheel size and alloy frame compound. Additionally a women’s specific frame is available. There are many different models within the range and this carbon comp 2019 model is the entry level model. There really is little to be said about this bike. It's pretty much all positive from my time in the saddle. However the 3 things to point out. 1. 29ers handle so much differently to 26/27.5 sized bikes. So with that in mind, take your time and get used to the way they feel. 2. The upfront Butcher tyre is a little unpredictable. I found it slippy in so many areas that would normally be fine. So this is something I'd change ASAP if I was to purchase the bike. So many others may be totally happy with the tyre combo. 3. Cable tubing from the frame may be subject to fraying. This is due to the frame having no rubber grommets or protective sections to cover the exposed cables. Over time this will cause the cable tubing to fray. My experience of the bike remains positive throughout still. The 29er set some new records on my Stava too. The FSR Carbon Comp 2019 is a fast bike for sure. I found it a little more demanding in the corners, but that's because I'm not totally used to the way they handle. Once you have this dialled in, the ride would be amazing.
