Blending sorrowful orchestration, operatic emotion, and cinematic scale, this song follows a disfigured magician/performer longing to be seen as human rather than feared as something monstrous. This piece was heavily influenced by—and created out of my love for—The Phantom of the Opera. The emotion, theatricality, and tragic romance of that production helped inspire the atmosphere and storytelling behind this song.
