Despite a respectable spring playoff finish that came off the back of a surprising top three regular-season finish, Meteos and 100 Thieves’ summer got off to a rough start. Falling lower and lower in the standings, 100 Thieves knew that changes needed to be made if they hoped to make worlds. And unfortunately for Meteos, he was going to be on the receiving end of those changes. Getting bumped down to academy is demoralizing for any LCS player. But for Meteos, it stung particularly deep considering that he experienced the exact same thing two years ago. Same team. Same split. Same week. Benched.
