Fishing the 9 mile bank on the rockfish opener for Southern CA.

April 1st is the rockfish opener for Southern CA. Unfortunately my daughter and I couldn’t get on the water early. By the time we made it offshore-the winds really started to pick up. The wave action wasn’t too bad, but we got hammered by the winds. We tried to make the best of it though. We got to see a lot of dolphins and I got tons of practice reeling up 300 gram jigs from 500+ feet. We only caught 2 fish and only was able to get the first one on the camera.
