Ward Swingle 1979

Leigh spoke with vocalist and pianist Ward Swingle in 1979 after a gig the Swingle Singers played in Minneapolis. Ward tells Leigh about his history in music including playing with Ted Fiorito during WW2 and studying with pianist/composer Walter Gieseking after he moved to France. Ward tells Leigh how he started doing jazz/classical and pop vocal group music in France and references singing in Blossom Dearie"s group, playing piano for Michel Legrand and Mimi Perrin with whom he sang in the Double Six of Paris in this fascinating interview.
