The Ancient History of Hurling, Poc Fada & Naomh Moninne

Dundalk, Louth & the Plains of Muirtheimne have been almost forgotten as an ancient hurling stronghold, the place where Setanta became Cú Chulainn, the birthplace of the Poc Fada and the hometown of Naomh Moninne Club, founded by Fr. Johnson aka An tAthair Pól MacSeáin. Routinely overlooked by the national Irish sports body, the GAA, this club has climbed its way up from humble beginnings in times of no money, to securing 9 acres of land on the banks of the Castletown river and raising most of it up by the 1.5 metres required by Louth County Council. If you can offer a digger and a few days help with the levelling, please contact the Club via the details on their website/email/Facebook - Website: https://naomhmoninnegaa.com/contact Facebook:   / naomh-moninne-hc-150116945024390   To donate to the Pitch Fund: Naomh Moninne Go Fund Me: https://gofund.me/f9ff4dc4 Moninne abú!
