There are so many bonsai tools out there and it can sometimes get overwhelming on which tools you should start with. In this video, Robert breaks down the four tools that should get as a beginner. These four tools should get you thru your first few years of practicing bonsai. We cover the following four tools. 1. Leaf/Twig shears Great for pruning back small leaves and thin branches. Designed to get into those hard to reach places. 2. Trimming shears Generally used for thinning and defoliating and pruning off thicker branches. 3. Concave cutter Cuts a branch flush against the trunk to reduce unsightly scarrings. 4. Knob cutter Cuts inward so the wound heals evenly over. Reduces the chance of an unsightly bump when healed.
