Heavy Surf Pounds Los Angeles
Heavy surf hit Los Angeles — and El Porto took it head on. This wasn’t the biggest day LA has ever seen — but it was heavy. An open-ocean style swell hit El Porto head on, pushing massive amounts of water straight into the coastline. Fewer surfers paddled out. Most stood on the sand and watched. I followed pro surfer Kei Kobayashi as he made the decision to paddle straight into it — no channel, no easy way out. Just walls of water, board ditches, and a long fight to reach the lineup. Kei only caught six waves that session, but one of them defined the day. This episode isn’t about hype or highlights. It’s about what heavy surf feels like — the pressure, the commitment, and the respect it demands. Filmed at El Porto, Los Angeles. Thanks for watching! I'm Brad Jacobson and I'll sea ya on the sand.
