It would be only one of a handful of states where the law would apply to those as young as 18. Opponents of the new law argued that the law could make the state less safe and drive up the rates of those killed by guns. However, criminals carry guns with or without permission from the state. What constitutional carry does is level the playing field. Now, criminals really don't know who does or doesn't have a gun because they don't have the advantage of a law telling law-abiding citizens that they have to jump through all of these hoops before they can carry a gun legally. Therefore, the odds that a criminal's potential victim is carrying a gun weren't as high as they will now become. Consequently, they'll start rethinking how they go about committing certain crimes because constitutional carry has made their job more dangerous.
