Driving from Mojácar to Albacete through some of the most spectacular mountain roads in Spain. This campervan journey takes us across high passes, huge dams, and stunning lakes in Andalucía — one of the most scenic drives of our entire van life Spain adventure. In this episode of our campervan journey through Spain, we leave the whitewashed beauty of Mojácar Old Town and begin an unforgettable drive north through Andalucía’s dramatic interior. This route takes us through winding mountain passes, across towering dams, and past shimmering lakes, offering some of the most breathtaking scenery we’ve seen on our entire vanlife Spain adventure. Travelling slowly in our campervan The Duke allows us to enjoy every twist and turn of this spectacular road. We stop for the night at the peaceful La Iruela aire, surrounded by nature and incredible mountain views, before continuing the journey the following day. One of the highlights of this episode is our stop at Mirador Las Palomas, where the panoramic views stretch endlessly across the valleys and forests below. From there, we drive alongside the beautiful Embalse del Tranco de Beas, a huge reservoir set within the heart of Sierra de Cazorla, one of southern Spain’s most stunning natural areas.
