In various atmospheric locations around Heiden's village square, Nicolas Senn discovers familiar and unexpected sounds. Many ensembles from this year's guest canton of Fribourg have traveled to the festival, including the well-known Schwyzerörgeler Bruno Raemy with the energetic Musigkultier ensemble, the renowned men's choir Chœur des Armaillis de la Gruyère, and the festive Bandits Folkloriques. Other musical highlights include the Lochus Alphorn Players, the baroque ensemble SäntisBarock together with the Bismärkli-Schuppel, and the playful 40er Zone ensemble led by the director of the Heiden Festival, Laurent Girard. The versatile musician has assembled a diverse lineup of well-known faces from the scene, all of whom are celebrating their 40th birthdays this year. A special highlight will be the performance by Thomas Gansch, who is setting new standards in folk music with his project Alpen & Glühen.
