In this entry, we left the city of Macaé heading towards Carapebus beach. Beforehand, we stopped at a wholesale store to stock up on groceries, visited the Jurubatiba Lagoon National Park where we saw the lagoon itself, and stopped at a gas station to refill our water jug. We arrived at Carapebus beach at night, tired, and had a surprise dinner. Carapebus can be defined as one of the most tranquil and cozy places in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Among the city's charms, we can highlight Carapebus Beach, the lagoon of the same name, and the Jurubatiba Restinga National Park, which it shares with the neighboring city of Quissamã. Known for its calm, inland Rio de Janeiro atmosphere, it appeals to those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of big cities, seeking a good place to relax. During the summer, it usually receives many tourists who find here the opportunity to enjoy beautiful landscapes. It has good infrastructure, with some hotels and guesthouses, making the stay pleasant and peaceful. Whether for relaxation or fun, Carapebus is a great destination for all ages. Carapebus Beach, known for its rustic charm, is incredibly beautiful. With its turquoise sea and spacious stretch of fine, reddish sand, it also boasts numerous trees along its length. With many nearby residences, it has limited infrastructure, making the beach more inviting. It receives a good number of visitors, but is usually frequented more by local residents. It's suitable for surfing, as well as other sports like volleyball, soccer, and beach tennis. Another good option is walking, for those who want to stay in shape in a more relaxed way. Some visitors enjoy fishing on this beach. Due to its tranquility, it's ideal for those who want to relax and enjoy a beautiful landscape. One of the city's main tourist attractions, the Carapebus lagoon – with an approximate area of ​​10 km² – is formed by several streams and connected to the Macaé-Campos canal. The Carapebus Lagoon microbasin is located in the center of the municipality, with part of it in the Jurubatiba sandbar. Its main watercourse, 5 km long, is the Maricota stream in Carapebus.
