This case shocked the public in Jambi City because the two were a gay couple. Robi Hidayat was murdered in his boarding room on Jalan Prof. M. Yamin, Payo Lebar Village, Jelutung District, Jambi City, on Monday (June 16, 2025). In the initial scene of the reconstruction, the suspect, Anggi, is seen first contacting the victim via Instagram direct message and inviting him to his boarding room. Upon arrival, the victim immediately entered the room. The two briefly engaged in an intimate encounter before the perpetrator took the potassium cyanide liquid, which he had previously divided into two and stored in a clear plastic bag. The poison was reportedly ordered online and received by the perpetrator several days prior. In scene 11, the suspect mixed cyanide liquid into a bottle of coffee prepared for the victim. As the victim drank the coffee, the suspect referred to it as a "power drug." After drinking the poisoned coffee, the victim invited the suspect to have sex with her. About 20 minutes later, the victim began to show symptoms of poisoning: convulsions, incontinence, and heavy snoring. Recognizing the victim's worsening condition, the suspect gave her a glass of water and washed the used coffee bottle in the bathroom. Afterward, he went downstairs and sought help from two other boarding house residents. They went upstairs and found the victim in critical condition. The suspect claimed the victim was suffering from food poisoning. The boarding house owner, identified as EL, also checked on the victim.
