SERAMBINEWS.COM, BANDA ACEH – The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the issue of benefit sharing from oil and gas management in the South Andaman Working Area (WK) should be resolved through a family approach. Bahlil made this statement while attending the inauguration of the Golkar Party Aceh Regional Leadership Council (DPD) in Banda Aceh on Saturday (July 11, 2026), in response to the Aceh Government's request regarding Participating Interest (PI), or ownership rights for participating regions in the oil and gas project. According to Bahlil, by law, management of the South Andaman Working Area falls under the authority of the central government because it is located in maritime areas beyond 12 miles.
