LWR 92 5 London | Bentleys | Easter Bank Holiday Monday All Nighter 1986 | Derek Boland Soul Set
An LWR 92.5FM listener's recording of the late great LWR DJ (and future Rap Star) Derek Boland in session at another legendary (Easter) Bank Holiday All-Nighter Party at Bentley's in East London broadcast live across London's airwaves. Derek is also on the mic giving shouts to legendary London street sounds, Rapattack, Mastermind, Good Times Roadshow (Joey & Norman Jay), Funkadelic and Casual Affair, for breaking some of the music he was playing in this mid-tempo soul and (at the time yet to be christened genre) 'rare groove' set........ "It was all called Good Groove" - Derek Boland. LWR's Roger Howe (RIP), who engineered the live broadcasts from various venues back in the day, is heard being called to the set by Derek to see LWR head honcho ZAK. Other DJ's playing on the night included Neil Charles, Tosca and Linden C.
