Ovinocultura de Corte Semi-Intensiva: Produção de Cordeiros Precoces e Gestão Profissional - EP 259

In this edition of the Bééé Brasil Expedition, we visited the Santa Cruz Farm in Paranavaí – PR, where breeder Bruno Céspedes Cruz, with the support of his father José Moretti Cruz, is developing a benchmark project in semi-intensive sheep farming for meat production. The system is based on: Well-managed irrigated Tifton pastures; Sorghum silage as a feed supplement; Production of early-maturing lambs from the Texel x Ile de France crossbreed; Feedlot with a high-grain diet (whole grain corn + protein supplement); Functional facilities and organized management. The project also includes: Technical assistance from Via Agronegócio in partnership with SebraeTec; Use of herd management software; Genetic selection based on zootechnical indices (maternal ability, precocity, weight gain, and resistance to worm infestation); Guaranteed commercialization through the CooperAliança Cooperative. 📌 A clear example of how technology, management, and genetics work together to generate consistent results in the field. 👉 Subscribe to the channel, like the video, and follow the Bééé Brasil Expedition on Instagram so you don't miss any visits!
