On my first day in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, I set out to explore the city beyond the usual tourist attractions. From the famous Ala-Too Square and the green parks surrounding the city centre to the bustling Osh Bazaar, this video shows what everyday life in Kyrgyzstan is really like. Along the way, I tried traditional Kyrgyz food for the very first time, including horse milk, horse meat, plov, beshbarmak, kurut, and other local specialties. After meeting two friendly Kyrgyz locals, I got a deeper insight into Kyrgyz culture, local cuisine, and life in Central Asia.
