MOB OF THE DEAD CHARACTER HISTORY: In 1922, Salvatore "Sal" DeLuca opens gambling houses in Chicago, thus creating the DeLuca crime family. Over the next few years, Billy Handsome (hitman), Michael "Finn" O'leary (expert bettor), and Albert "Al" Arlington (Los Angeles bank robber) begin working for the DeLuca family. In 1931, after an assassination attempt goes wrong, Al wakes up in the hospital. During his stay there, he draws his new comic "Icarus of Mars." Icarus is the airplane. In late 1931, the DeLuca family begins to decline, and the Chicago police arrest Sal (for one murder), Billy (for multiple homicides), Finn (betrayed by his wife), and Al (for his role in the Los Angeles robbery). The following year, they are all framed and taken to Alcatraz. In 1933, Stanley Ferguson begins work on Alcatraz Island. That same year, Al convinces Sal, Finn, and Billy that they can build an airplane (the Icarus) and escape from Alcatraz. However, after realizing the plane will never be completed, Sal, Finn, and Billy plot revenge on Al. On December 31, 1933, Finn, Sal, and Billy lure Al to the roof and kill him. Two weeks later, traversing a rift, Richtofen secures Sal and Finn's blood samples, who, along with Billy, are executed in the electric chair one week later. After this, MOB OF THE DEAD begins: Sal, Finn, Billy, and Al survive waves of the undead while trapped in a seemingly endless cycle. SHADOWS OF EVIL CHARACTER HISTORY: In 1943, posing as a human named "Mr. Rapt," Shadow Man hires a reporter to recover some artifacts lost in the South Pacific and Russia. Among them is the Summoning Key. At Mr. Rapt's request, the reporter travels with the artifacts to Morg City and seeks information on Nero, Jessica Rose, Floyd Campbell, and Jack Vincent. Aware of Shadow Man's actions, Monty writes to the reporter, warning him not to give the Summoning Key to anyone. In April 1944: Posing as a company executive, Shadow Man tells Nero's lawyer that his wife has taken out loans in his name, and that Nero is facing several debts because of her. In the end, Nero kills his wife in a "workplace accident," collecting on her life insurance to cover the debts. Posing as an Internal Affairs officer, Shadow Man tried to convince Jack's partner Vincent to admit that Jack was trying to kill the informant who had evidence against him and his corrupt actions. In the end, Jack kills the informant who could turn him in to International Affairs. Posing as a film director, he talks to Jessica's producer, saying he wants to cast her in a leading role. In the end, Jessica kills the photographer and secures the incriminating photographs he had. Posing as a journalist, Shadow Man talks to Floyd's promoter to learn about his fights. In the end, Floyd kills Tony the King in the boxing match. On the same day as the murders (April 21), Richtofen arrives in Morg City to retrieve the Summoning Key. He discovers the reporter has the Key and confronts him. The reporter, holding Monty's letter, tells Richtofen to back off. Richtofen kills the reporter in self-defense.
