Sony VPL-VW870ES €25k Laser Projector Hands-On First Look

Sony has launched three new 4K projectors at IFA 2018, namely the lamp-based VPL-VW270ES and VPL-VW570ES, as well as the Sony VPL-VW870ES with laser light engine. This video includes a first look at a pre-production unit of the Sony VW870 which retails for €25,000, shipping mid-November. We measured the SDR colour accuracy after calibration, DCI-P3 gamut coverage, and input lag in both 1080p SDR and 4K HDR modes.
