The Special Olympics are the world's largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities. It's about recognition, competition, and community. SWR Sport followed four athletes as they prepared for the World Winter Games. Just like the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Special Olympics World Games take place every two years, alternating between summer and winter. They are the world's largest inclusive sporting event for people with intellectual disabilities. The Winter Games in Turin will be held from March 8th to 15th. More than 1,500 athletes from over 100 different countries will compete in eight different winter sports. Among those representing Baden-Württemberg are Reka Schatz, Giuliana Diaz, and Sabrina Schneider in alpine skiing, and Rozaliya Khudeeda in snowshoeing.
