Mama Betty
Mama Betty from the Southern Highlands has been living with HIV for 8 years in her community following her husband's infection and death. Since then, she has rebuilt a family, adopting a son, Dominik and his wife and two children. The 16 minutes production is one of the five Komuniti Tok Piksa (KTP) films on the DVD, 'Harim. Lukim. Painem Aut.' produced by the Centre for Social and Creative Media at the University of Goroka, Papua New Guinea. Working in collaboration with Papua New Guinea Highland communities, the stories reveal the impact of the HIV pandemic on the lives of individuals, families and communities, as told from their own perspectives.
