A day in the life of a CCTV engineer - Failed Hikvision IP camera and some exterior lighting fitted.

Today we visited a customer where we had already done 1st fix cabling for some exterior lighting to finish off and install the light fittings. We had a camera go down at a site out of area, seemed a really unusual fault as the cameras are pretty consistent and we don’t really get any issues. After power cycling remotely the unit would not come back online and all things pointed to potentially rodent damaged cable.
