The incredible story of an undeservedly forgotten grain. 4,000 years of history. Recipe for "Tsar's" porridge, a favorite of Peter the Great. Barley - 1 cup Water - 1 liter Milk - 2 liters Cream and butter - to taste. Rinse the barley. Cover with a liter of water and let sit overnight. The next day, heat 2 liters of milk and add the barley (previously drained). Boil for 5 minutes. Then place in an oven preheated to 100°C (212°F) and let simmer for 8 hours (a double boiler is an alternative). After 8 hours, remove from heat, stir, and serve. Add butter and cream to the bowl of porridge. Add more salt if desired. This porridge is fantastic!
