Olaf Kuhn was shot dead in his shop. The shopkeeper had grown tired of the countless thefts by local youths. He confronted the young men and placed an old hunting rifle next to his cash register as a deterrent. He was killed with this weapon. Arslan, a Turkish youth, quickly became a suspect. But the police found the boy seriously injured. He died. A local shopkeeper organized a vigilante group to maintain law and order, as she believed the police were incapable of fulfilling their duties.
