The perpetrator had apparently no motive to target these two individuals and, despite flimsy evidence at best, the man caught was convicted and executed for the crime in April 1962. Yet, the case continues to divide because of the lack of evidence and many people believe the man to have been wrongly convicted. Many years later, cutting-edge DNA testing technology would once and for all confirm whether or not the perpetrator was indeed guilty and possibly wrongly executed.
