REPORTAGEM ESPECIAL ADELINO NASCIMENTO

#adelinonascimento Eunocelino Araújo do Nascimento, known by his stage name Adelino Nascimento, was a Brazilian singer and songwriter of the "brega" musical genre. He called himself "the passionate singer of the common people." He was successful in the Northeast region of Brazil, especially in Maranhão and Bahia. He composed songs such as "Adeus Ingrata" (Goodbye Ungrateful Woman), recorded by Cláudio Fontana, "Menina Faceira" (Flirty Girl), and "Vou Voltar para São Luís" (I'm Going Back to São Luís). He began his career in 1981 when his father, a farmer in Turiaçu, sold a piece of land to pay for the recording of a tape. He sent the recording to a businessman in São Paulo, who approved of the singer and hired him to record his first album. He ran for mayor of Maracaçumé in 1996 but was not elected. He died at the João Alves Filho Emergency Hospital on April 10, 2008. He suffered from asthma and after a show in the city of Japaratuba, he felt unwell, with respiratory problems, but refused medical attention. He fell ill again days later, when he was hospitalized.
