WE WERE NOT EXPECTING THAT TO HAPPEN IN THE STAR WARS: MAUL - SHADOW LORD FINALE! WOW! Tessa Smith (Mama's Geeky) and her daughter Lorie are back with Mom & Daughter Reacts to Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Episodes 9 & 10, the EPIC SEASON FINALE, and WOW — what an unforgettable ending to an incredible first season! This finale truly has it all — massive lightsaber battles, devastating losses, emotional character turns, and huge Star Wars moments that have us counting down the days until Season 2. The action is next-level, especially the absolutely insane showdown between Maul and Darth Vader. Seeing these two iconic Sith face off is everything we could have hoped for — brutal, cinematic, and visually stunning. The animation continues to blow us away in every single scene. But this finale also hits HARD emotionally… We were completely wrecked by Spybot’s death — that moment absolutely destroyed Lorie, and honestly, same. Spybot has been such a standout character, bringing humor and heart, and losing him was devastating. The losses don’t stop there. Rook and Daki both die, and while we may have expected some of it, it still hits hard — especially seeing Devon witness Daki’s death, which becomes a major turning point for her. Because yes… Devon is pulled further toward the dark side. Watching Maul continue to manipulate and corrupt her is intense, and after everything she goes through, seeing her ignite a red lightsaber gave us chills. What a moment!! We also have to talk about Captain Lawson’s sacrifice. He makes the ultimate choice to help others escape, and while it’s incredibly heroic, we didn’t actually see a body… so the big question is — could he return in Season 2?! And through it all, Maul is completely unhinged, more powerful and dangerous than ever, pulling the strings and shaping everything around him. We were blown away by Maul vs. Darth Vader, devastated by Spybot’s death, shocked by the losses of Rook and Daki, emotional over Captain Lawson’s sacrifice and possible fate, and stunned by Devon’s turn toward the dark side — especially when she ignites her red lightsaber. The finale perfectly balances action, heartbreak, and huge character moments.
