Pistacia lentiscus, the Mastic Tree
We all know about the Pistachio nut Tree, Pistacia vera, but do you know about Pistacia lentiscus, the Mastic Tree? It's a very versatile plant : it's edible, medicinal and it decorates beautifully the mediterranean landscape. It's most famous for its mastic gum that is produced with small superficial cuts done in the bark. I have discovered this plant recently and I find it absolutely marvellous!
