Simply rotate the bezel clockwise to move the central hour hand forwards to the desired hour. Rotate the bezel in an anti-clockwise direction to move the hour hand backwards. The date indicator at 3 o’clock is synchronized with the central hour and minute hands and will likewise, change in tandem with the local time. Even if the central hour hand is moved backwards, the date display will change to a previous date, if necessary. From what we understand, a patent has been filed by Oris for this date change mechanism. Home time, the place where one departed from, can be read off the sub-dial at 3 o’clock and it comes with a day and night display at its 9 o’clock. This day and night display is yet another useful feature to keep track of home time.
