Dutch Guy 🇳🇱 First Day in Indonesia 🇮🇩 This was my first day in Indonesia. As a Dutch guy visiting for the very first time, I wanted to experience a little bit of everything, the food, the people, and the atmosphere. The country I visited before Indonesia was Malaysia and I was curious what the differences and similarity would be. I was most curious of all what parts of Indonesian culture I might already be familiar with as a dutch guy because of the connection and history between Indonesia the Netherlands. The traffic, the heat, the street food smells, and the way people interact all stood out to me. But having been to culturally similar and other low income countries I also saw many similarities to places I'd been before and I found that most interesting of all. The day started with me arriving at the airport in the afternoon. Throughout the day, I walked around, tried cheap local street foods and drinks, and just observed what daily life looks like here. This first day I didn't visit the best part of Indonesia but I just recorded my first experience and first impression. There’s a special connection between the Netherlands and Indonesia, and seeing that from my own perspective really added to the experience. In this video, I share my genuine first impressions what surprised me, what I loved right away, and what I still had to get used to. It’s all about that first day feeling of stepping into a new country for the first time.
